We know that living with mental health issues can lead people to feel isolated and alone. Lifecraft offers group activities, communal meals and good company in a relaxing social environment.
Social Club – Mondays and Tuesdays 1pm-2.15pm. Fridays 12pm-3pm.
-
The Social Club is a friendly and fun group, where members can relax, chill-out and socialise in a non-judgemental and supportive environment. During the Friday Social Clubs we have a community meal
Hearing Voices Group – Tuesdays 2.30pm-4pm
-
People who hear, see or sense things that other people don’t should expect to receive good support. Therefore, Andrew, Liz and Michael facilitate the Hearing Voices Group at Lifecraft. It is mainly a talking group with other activities added dependent on what the attendees want from the group.
Resilience Group – Mondays 11.30am-12.30pm
-
Resilience Group is fundamentally about supporting people to develop their own coping strategies for everyday life challenges. The group aims to introduce varying themes such as developing inner self- belief, dealing with social situations, and trust. Members within the group will be able to discuss their feelings and viewpoints in a confidential setting, and sometimes exercises will be used related to the topic being discussed.
Meditation and Mindfulness – Mondays 12.45pm-1.30pm
-
Mindfulness is a very simple form of meditation. It has been defined as ‘doing one thing at a time, in the present moment, with your full attention and with acceptance’. In the group we practice a series of led mindfulness meditations, with an emphasis on changing our relationship to experiences, rather than changing the experiences themselves.
Art Group – Mondays, 2.30pm-4.30pm
-
The Art Group is a place where you can come and be creative with a range of art materials. The structure of the group is very free, you can either work on your own art projects or learn new art techniques with the guidance of an experienced art tutor. Karen is a local artist and a published author/illustrator of children’s books. She studied at Falmouth College of Arts and has an MA in Children’s Book Illustration from Anglian Ruskin University.
